Artist Biography
Alexis Arnold was born in Milwaukee, WI, and grew up in Sturgeon Bay, WI.
After graduating from UW Stout in Menomonie, WI with a Fine Art Degree and concentration in art metals, she moved to St Paul, MN. There she worked in a commercial photography lab and later at Art Resources Gallery.
After a couple of years in Minnesota, she relocated to Portland, Oregon, and spent fifteen years living out west. While in Portland Alexis worked for another photographer and then branched off on her own. She ran a successful photography business for ten years on the West Coast photographing weddings, portraits, fashion, and small businesses. Alexis moved back to her home state of Wisconsin in 2016 and lives and works out of Green Bay, WI.
The unique and versatile medium of encaustic inspires her fine artwork. The mix of old and new has always been something she has been drawn to. Her works showcase her love for modern and antique.
Alexis' encaustic artwork has been shown in solo and group exhibitions throughout Wisconsin.
Her daughter and blue healer dog keep her busy. When she is not spending time with them, she plays with fire and wax in her studio space. She loves helping others grow and succeed in what they love to do. She founded the non-profit Art Connective to help artists navigate the art world. She shares her entrepreneurship experiences and knowledge with online courses and on social media through Art Connective and gives back to her local community by teaching free art workshops to the local Big Brothers & Big Sisters of NE Wisconsin.
